Ju Sung Kim

Born in 1950 in Hungnam, Kim Hwabaek graduated from Osan High School in Seoul and Seorabeol Art College (now Chung-Ang University). He moved to the United States in 1981 and settled in Chicago in 1986. During his tenure as president of the Chicago Korean American Artists Association, he actively worked to discover emerging artists and led exchange exhibitions with Korean American art groups in other states. Since 2011, he has served as the director of the Cultural Center Art Gallery, organizing various exhibitions. In 1987, he founded the Monument Art Academy, where he taught students for over 30 years. He has held 17 solo exhibitions and participated in over 70 group exhibitions. Additionally, he founded the Korean theater troupe "Chilcheon" and has worked as a playwright and director.
