Artist Spotlight: Hyang Sook Kim Solo Exhibition Opens December 6

The Chicago art community will soon welcome a new solo exhibition by artist Hyang Sook Kim, on view from December 6–15, 2025 at Chicago Monument Gallery (1st Floor, 3520 N. Milwaukee Ave, Northbrook, IL).

Kim, a Western-style painter with more than three decades of artistic experience, is known for her deep dedication to expressing the essence of Korean sentiment through contemporary oil painting. Drawing inspiration from the beauty, vitality, and shifting emotions found in nature, her works capture the subtle inner landscapes that natural forms evoke within us.

As an active member of both the Korea Fine Arts Association and the Chicago Korean American Art Association, Kim continues to bridge cultural and artistic traditions through her practice. Her upcoming exhibition offers viewers an intimate glimpse into her long-standing exploration of color, movement, and emotion.
